Lifeline East

The Lifeline East programme got off the ground in Autumn 06. Mark McFeeters is leading a volunteer team that is working with the young people in East Belfast. Mark and his dedicated team are working on building relationships with the young people in the area around Merge Café, Sydenham.

The team hands out flyers during lunchtime to students attending the local school as one strand of our recruitment approach. There is also plenty of hanging out with young people in Merge Café which is always good craic.

On Lifeline nights, the focus is relational, giving participants a place to belong and develop in character and initiative. The Lifeline project aims to create a positive relational environment and this is what primarily attracts young people to be with us.

Like all YI projects, each evening is led by a team of young people (aged 16+) supported by a YI youthworker. The team designated for this project jointly plan, direct and evaluate every event they run.

Lifeline is open to any young person, aged 15 – 18yrs.
